DAY 1. CHRISTCHURCH / WAIPARA WINE REGION / HANMER SPRINGS

Discover the North Canterbury wine region with your guide. The Waipara Valley is well known for its cool, dry climate with good sunshine and long growing season. Over 40 vineyards and wineries pepper the landscape producing Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc that are renowned for their intense flavours, richness and complex fruit. Enjoy winery tastings and a relaxed lunch prior to continuing on to Hanmer Springs, best known for its natural hot pools and stunning landscapes.
Unwind and soak at your leisure with a two-day pass to the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa. This award-winning extensive complex, has naturally heated thermal mineral waters in 22 outdoor pools and activity areas including waterslides, set amongst a large native garden and towering redwood forest.

DAY 2. HANMER SPRINGS

Today is a fun-filled outdoor adventure jet-boating the spectacular Waiau River canyon. Your qualified and professional jet boat driver navigates through narrow gorges, braided shallows and rapids on a twin-engine jet boat. Then plow through rivers, mud, and forest on a quad bike or buggy tour amoung the trees and mountain backdrop of Hanmer Springs.
This afternoon is at leisure. One of the great delights of Hanmer Springs is the surrounding hills and forest have an enormous network of mountain biking and walking trails suited to all abilities. Hire an electric bike and explore tracks from leisurely easy grades for the casual rider to challenging swooping and technical tracks for the experts. Put on your walking shoes to climb the iconic Conical Hill for stunning 360-degree views of the valley or stroll through the forest to find exquisite whimsical wooden sculptures hidden in the woods, including a giant hawk, a friendly tuatara, cheeky fantails, and more.
